Ikea Play Kitchen Water Hack
Hello, friends! Today I’m sharing a quick and easy hack for your Ikea play kitchen. If you have one of these at home, chances are your kiddo loves to turn on the water faucet and let it run.
But what happens when they forget to turn it off? Water everywhere! This hack is a simple way to prevent that from happening.
All you need is a small piece of velcro. Place one side of the velcro on the back of the faucet handle, and the other side on the underside of the kitchen sink. Now when your little one turns on the water, they won’t be able to pull the handle all the way back and cause a flood.
The velcro will hold it in place so they can only turn it on a little bit, just enough to make believe without making a mess.
If you’re looking for an inexpensive way to keep your play kitchen tidy and dry, this is definitely worth trying out!

Functional Play Kitchen
If you’re looking for a functional play kitchen that will provide hours of fun for your little ones, you’ve come to the right place! We’ve got all the details on the best play kitchens out there, so you can make an informed decision on which one is right for your home.
First things first, what exactly is a play kitchen?
A play kitchen is a miniature version of a real kitchen, complete with all the essential appliances and accessories. It’s the perfect way for kids to pretend to cook and bake, without any of the mess or danger that comes with using real stovetops and ovens. And since they’re usually made from sturdy materials like wood or plastic, they’ll withstand plenty of wear and tear from energetic little hands.
Now that you know what a play kitchen is, it’s time to decide which one is right for your family. There are many different styles and sizes available on the market today, so it’s important to take some time to browse through your options before making a purchase. Here are some things to keep in mind as you shop:
-Size: How much space do you have available for a play kitchen? Some models are compact enough to fit in small apartments or bedrooms, while others are larger and require more floorspace. Keep your child’s age and height in mind when selecting a size – you want them to be able to comfortably reach all the surfaces and appliances within their kitchen.
-Features: What kind of features does your child need or want in their play kitchen? Some basic kitchens include an oven, stovetop, sink, and fridge; while more elaborate ones may also have dishwashers, microwaves, coffee makers, etc. If your kid loves hosting dinner parties, look for kitchens that come with table and chairs so they can invite their friends over for tea parties or pizza nights.
-Materials: Play kitchens can be made from various materials like wood (the most durable option), plastic (a lightweight choice that’s easy to move around), or even cardboard (a budget-friendly material that’s still surprisingly sturdy). Consider how long you want your child’s kitchen to last – if it’s something they’ll only use for a few years until they outgrow it, then cheaper materials may be fine. But if you’re hoping their play kitchen will last well into their teenage years (or beyond!), then investing in something sturdier like wood is probably worth it.
How Do I Convert My Ikea Kitchen to Montessori?
When it comes to outfitting a Montessori kitchen, there are a few key things to keep in mind. First and foremost, the layout should be designed with functionality and ease of use in mind. That means plenty of counter space for food preparation as well as ample storage for all of your child’s cooking utensils, dishes, and ingredients.
IKEA kitchens are a great option for creating a Montessori-friendly space because they are typically very affordable and can be easily customized to fit your specific needs. For example, adding a few extra shelves or drawers is an easy way to create more storage space. And if you choose open shelving instead of cabinets, it will be easier for your child to reach everything they need while cooking.
Another important aspect of a Montessori kitchen is that it should be safe for children to use. That means keeping things like knives and other sharp objects out of reach and ensuring that all appliances are properly unplugged when not in use. If you’re not sure where to start, there are plenty of online resources that can help you create a safe and functional Montessori kitchen in your home.
